Mari-Sol García Somoza graduated in Sociology from the University of Buenos Aires. She holds a Master’s Degree in Social and Human Sciences from the EHESS. Her Master’s Thesis was on Interjective Narratives. Identities, Discourse and Counter-Discourse: Forms of Identity-Building and Religious Sociabilities of Muslim Women in Contemporary Argentina. She is currently a Ph.D. student in the Paris Descartes University and UBA, writing her doctoral thesis intituled From Fatima to Evita: Identities, Involvement Spaces and Religious Sociabilities of Muslim Women in Argentina. She was a doctoral fellow of the CEIL-CONICET, Argentine. She was a lecturer for the Society and Religion research seminar FCS-UBA and ATER in the Institute of European Studies – University of Paris 8. Since 2010 she has been a member of the editorial board for the CEIL-CONICET journal, Sociedad y Religión. She is also a member of CEIL-CONICET’s Society, Culture and Religion Programme and of the Centre for Cultural Anthropology – CANTHEL. She is part of the Steering Committee of the MERCOSUR Association of Social Scientists of Religion – ACSRM for the period 2015–2018
